jewellery from the past

Ancient Egypt jewellery dates back thousands of years. Uses of gold represent gods and mainly kings and queens would wear it, but even slaves and common people have been found in graves wearing items such as anklets, rings, necklaces and bracelets.
Egyptian jewellery is mainly decorative since almost everyone wore it, except in the cases where it was made from gold which mainly kings and queens wore because of its symbolism to gods.
I think Egyptian jewellery was made for decoration more than function as Egyptians where very well dressed people, especially for kings and queens who felt the need to show their importance with gold.
gold was worn nobility like  kings/queens and the rich where as slaves wore hand made jewellery made out of leather, animal skins and natural materials. evidance of slaves jewellery would have rotted away years ago.
